Boating + Water Sports
The shores of the South Shuswap are home to three amazing marinas (FINZ resort, Bayside Marina and Shuswap Marina) where you can rent boats, jet skis and other water sports equipment, launch or moor your boat, grab a tasty bite to eat or do a bit of summer shopping.
If you’re after some exhilarating thrills this summer, then we highly suggest you head out onto Shuswap Lake by boat. No matter if you’re cruising the vast shoreline (over 1000 km!), hanging out at Copper Island, or wakeboarding, you’ll be sure to feel the sun on your skin and the lake breeze in your hair.
Paddling
If exploring the lake by motor isn’t your thing then grab a kayak, canoe or paddle board and get ready to zen out. Blind Bay is a popular part of the lake to slowly cruise the shoreline, especially in the morning and at sunset.

Fishing
Shuswap Lake is home to world-class wild rainbow trout fishing as well as several other native species. Whether you’re a seasoned vet or fishing newbie, Shuswap lake welcomes you to try your luck. Fly fishing, trolling, casting lures… you name it, the Shuswap has it.

Swimming
Next up on our list of things to do on Shuswap Lake is good old fashioned swimming! Inexpensive and a guaranteed day of fun in the sun, the South Shuswap has beautiful public beaches for the whole family to enjoy.

Exploring
With a lake so expansive, you’ll always find a new adventure! From the South Shuswap, you can explore locally and head to Copper Island or travel a little further to the shores of the North Shuswap or the narrows where all four arms of Shuswap Lake meet! There you’ll find a floating restaurant (The Shark Shack) and a general store!
